About Dr. Robert H. Moss

Dr. Robert H. Moss' first books were an eight-book series, The Nephite Chronicles. They begin with Joseph, who was sold into Egypt and began the writings on the Brass Plates. These novels are of the prophets and heroes of the Book of Mormon. Covenant Coat (Joseph); I, Nephi (Nephi); Waters of Mormon (Alma the Elder); That I Were an Angel (Alma the Younger); Title of Liberty (Helaman and Moroni); The Abridger (Mormon); Valiant Witness (Moroni); and a modern novel as a testimony of the Book of Mormon: Capstone of Faith.

After sixteen years of research and writing, Dr. Moss published Soldiers 'n Saints, an historical novel about the Utah War and the Bear River Massacre. Other works include Celestial Child, A Biography of a Downs-Syndrome Child, and The Moss Family--1837-1993.

He has completed several other books (unpublished). A science fiction novel, Sword of Kah, and a novel of King Ludwig and Richard Wagner, the musician: Ludwig and Wagner

His non-fiction works include: A Reader's Book of Mormon Digest, a doctrinal condensation of the Book of Mormon, and PMA for Latter-Day-Saints. This book had its beginnings in the self-help movement of the sixties and seventies. More than twenty years of positive thinking and motivational seminars by such speakers as Denis Waitley, Zig Ziglar, Charlie "Tremendous" Jones, etc., profoundly influenced Robert's life.

In 2001, his wife, Roberta, and he served as missionaries at the Mormon Handcart Visitors' Center, at Martin Cove, in Wyoming. Robert was so enthralled by the stories of the Martin Company that he gathered all of the stories he could. He was especially captivated by the story of Sarah Ann Franks and George Padley, the "sweethearts" of the Martin Company. Upon returning from the mission field, he began in earnest to write a novel that would include all essential elements of that story, as well as an accurate story of the journey of the Martin Handcart Company. The book is entitled Through Deepening Trials, is published by Granite Press and is now available in commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the Martin Handcart Company journey.

Roberta and Robert have been married for almost fifty-three years and have five children, twenty three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren (with one more on the way).
